This PCR-based system is used to genotype bovines and validate their parentage quickly and accurately. The StockMarks® for Cattle Bovine Genotyping Kit is part of a complete solution for bovine parentage typing and genotyping employing ISAG-recommended microsatellite markers. Protocol not included (Cat. No. 4330663).

Accurate with All Sample Types
All StockMarks® kits amplify microsatellite markers by means of PCR and fluorescent dye-labeled primers. PCR more accurate than serological typing and consumes less sample, is easier to standardize and automate, and is successful with all types of samples, including blood, semen, and hair. Additionally, when fluorescent dye is used to label PCR primers, multiple amplifications can be performed in a single reaction.

The StockMarks® for Cattle Bovine Genotyping Kit can confirm or exclude parentage, using the highly accurate and informative polymorphic short tandem repeats (STRs), also known as microsatellites, which are evenly distributed across the genome.
